Health Check in Darwen

I went for a health check in Darwen on Saturday. There was a mobile health unit set up in the town encouraging people both young and old to have their blood pressure checked, plus taken and weight checked.

The unit was run by “let’s get healthy” with funding provided by the Conservative led Blackburn with Darwen Council. For anyone who is interested my plus was 65bpm (resting rate), Bp 123/80 but I am not prepared to disclose my weigh (I am working on it).

This was a fantastic initiative with over 200 people per day having a health check and one I hope will be taken up by other councils in the area.
