A little late due to some technical hitches with the camera; pictured above is the Darwen Lights Switch On.
I was happy to be invited to help turn the lights on. I arrived early and went collecting form the 5 Star Scanner appeal among the crowd. The people of Darwen’s generosity for good causes never ceases to amaze me. I managed to get my bucket full with change in no time.
After some fantastic music and entertainment from the Bee it was time for the count down. Once the lights had been turned on by the Mayor of Blackburn with Darwen I had the pleasure of presenting to her a bunch of flowers to say thank you. I also had the chance to have a dance on the stage. Not quite John Travolta standard but good fun!!
